Sherry Robbins is a published poet, teaching artist, certified yoga teacher, and free-lance writer. She has conducted creative writing workshops throughout New York State and abroad since 1977 and works with hundreds of students each year. The Association of Teaching Artists named Sherry the New York State Teaching Artist of the Year for 2005. Young Audiences of WNY has twice honored her with a Distinguished Artist Award. Sherry has served for several years on the National Endowment for the Arts Art Works panel, and is an arts education consultant for the University of Coimbra in Portugal, and for Portugal’s Belgais Center for the Study of Arts. She is also a certified yoga teacher, and often incorporates movement into her creative writing residencies. She has three books of poetry, Under World, Snapshots of Paradise, and Or, the Whale, as well as dozens of poems published in literary journals, chapbooks, and anthologies here and in Spain, Portugal, and Canada, including Earth’s Daughters, Salmagundi, Denver Quarterly and Poets at Work.
