She holds a B.A. in Dance from SUNY Buffalo, and an M.S. in Special Education from Buffalo State College, as well as completing the criteria in Physical Education & Health. She is also a Licensed Practical Nurse. She is currently head of the Dance Department at Nardin Academy. Previously, Hanna ran the dance/movement-based program at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf. She continues to teach dance workshops for Buffalo Schools and various dance studios, and has taught dance at Canisius and D’Youville Colleges.
Hanna wanted to be ballerina since she was a child, and began her ballet training in kindergarten. She stuck with it, attending Buffalo’s Royal Academy of Ballet, and began performing professionally with Pick of the Crop. Just as they were leaving on tour, she gave birth to her daughter. Hanna stayed behind and began teaching all the company classes, realizing she had found her niche.
Hanna has performed with area dance companies such as Empire State Ballet, Buffalo City Ballet, and Buffalo Contemporary Dance. Her passion for dance is uniquely demonstrated in her enthusiasm for teaching and sharing her art form.
