Art Criticism
This unusual residency provides an introduction to the world of careers which support the arts. Gaasch crosses disciplines, and this residency will work for students majoring in any art form, general studies, or journalism. A daunting task, communicating with words about the arts builds confidence in beginning students and challenges even the most talented students. This residency works best when at least one performance or trip to an art gallery is incorporated. A longer term residencey allows students to produce a Journal of Art Criticism.
Grades: 7-12 |
Mural Project
Students will work with the artist to create a scene to paint for this temporary or permanent mural. Painting in teams, students become the artists and watch their work unfold larger than life in this wonderfully public forum for creativity. Murals can focus on neighborhoods, heroes or the environment.
