Arts Abilties Image

Arts Abilities: A Vision for Inclusion is an arts education conference whose goal is to provide each attendee with inspiration and new perspectives on the importance of arts integration for special needs populations.  The 2008 conference focused on kinesthetic activities like dance, music, and theater.

The conference featured:

  • An introduction by arts and special education expert Anne Rhodes
  • Performances by Moving Miracles, a special needs dance program, and No Words Spoken, a music group featuring staff and clients from Autistic Services, Inc.

With hands-on workshops on:

  • Differentiated Instruction
  • Drumming and verbal abilities
  • Theater and self-expression
  • Dance for special needs populations
  • Visual art activities for people with disabilities, at Starlight Studio and Art Gallery
